E8-13736 Bayer CropScience; Availability of Petition and Draft Environmental Assessment for Determination of Nonregulated Status for Cotton Genetically Engineered for Glyphosate Herbicide Tolerance Notice We are advising the public that the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has received a petition from Bayer CropScience seeking a determination of nonregulated status for cotton genetically engineered for tolerance to the herbicide glyphosate derived from a transformation event designated as GHB614. The petition has been submitted in accordance with our regulations concerning the introduction of certain genetically engineered organisms and products. In accordance with those regulations, we are soliciting comments on whether this genetically engineered cotton is or could be a plant pest.
