This action is based on a review of the best available scientific and commercial information, which indicates that the species is no longer threatened with extinction. This proposed rule, if made final, would also remove the currently designated critical habitat for the Inyo California towhee throughout its range. We are seeking information and comments from the public on this proposed rule and the post-delisting monitoring plan. The Inyo California towhee occurs only in Inyo County, California. 2013-11-04 2013 11 https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2013/11/04/2013-26122/endangered-and-threatened-wildlife-and-plants-12-month-finding-on-a-petition-and-proposed-rule-to https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2013-11-04/pdf/2013-26122.pdf Interior Department; Fish and Wildlife Service 253,197 We, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), propose to remove the Inyo California towhee (Pipilo crissalis eremophilus = Melozone crissalis eremophilus) from the Federal List of Endangered and Threatened Wildlife due to recovery.
