05-24654 Thermal/Acoustic Insulation Installed on Transport Category Airplanes Rule This action modifies the requirements for improved flammability characteristics of thermal/acoustic insulation used as replacements on airplanes manufactured before September 2, 2005. The FAA has recently been provided information that the rule will apply to a much broader range of components in currently operating airplanes than was originally intended.
