| 03-14739 | Agency Information Collection Activities: Revision of the Employer Information Report (EEO-1) Comment Request | Notice | In the late 1990's, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issued revisions of three standard Federal classifications related to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's Employer Information Report (EEO-1)--the North American Industry Classification System (1997), the Standards for the Classification of Federal Data on Race and Ethnicity (1997), and the Standard Occupational Classification (1999). In response to the changes in the OMB classification standards, and under Sec. 709(c) of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended (42 U.S.C. 200e-8(c)), the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC or Commission) is proposing modifications to the system currently used to classify the race and ethnicity and job categories used by respondents to file annual EEO-1 reports. This notice solicits public comment on the EEOC proposals.
