The draft guidelines were recommended by an ad hoc committee of the Access Board after consideration of the recommendations proposed by an advisory committee comprised of representatives from disability organizations, public works departments, transportation and traffic engineering groups, design professionals and civil engineers, Federal agencies, and standards- setting bodies.
