This program addresses anticipated changes in pest management on food, feed, livestock, and ornamental commodities resulting from implementation of the Food Quality Protection Act of 1996 (FQPA) and related regulatory actions. The goals of this program are to develop, test, and implement pest management alternatives and possible mitigation strategies to ensure that crop producers have reliable methods of managing pests considered a high priority under the Food Quality Protection Act (FQPA) and related regulatory actions. By this notice, CSREES also requests input regarding the FY 2001 Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Special Research Grants Program-- Pest Management Alternatives Research: Special Program Addressing Food Quality Protection Act from any interested party. These comments will be considered in the development of the next RFP for this program.
