| 01-32254 | Imposition and Collection of Passenger Civil Aviation Security Service Fees | Rule | The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announces the imposition of a security service fee in the amount of $2.50 per enplanement on passengers of domestic and foreign air carriers in air transportation, foreign air transportation, and intrastate air transportation originating at airports in the United States. Passengers will not be charged for more than two enplanements per one-way trip or four enplanements per round trip. The security service fee will apply to passengers using frequent flyer awards for air transportation, but may not be imposed on other nonrevenue passengers. Direct air carriers and foreign air carriers must collect the security service fees on air transportation sold on or after February 1, 2002.
