This determination is based on three years of complete, quality-assured, ambient air monitoring data for the 1997 to 1999 ozone seasons that demonstrate that the ozone NAAQS has been attained in the area. On August 9, 2000 the State of Louisiana submitted a request to redesignate the ozone nonattainment area of Lafourche Parish to attainment. Under the Clean Air Act (CAA), nonattainment areas may be redesignated to attainment if sufficient data are available to warrant the redesignation and the area meets the other CAA redesignation requirements.
