| 01-30788 | Minimum Internal Control Standards | Proposed Rule | In response to the inherent risks and the need for effective controls in tribal gaming operations, the Commission, in 1999, developed Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS). Since their original implementation, it has become obvious that the MICS require technical adjustments and revisions so that they may continue to be effective in protecting tribal assets, while allowing tribes to utilize technological advances in the gaming industry.
