This amendment modifies the calculation of the net long position ("NLP") to be reported in "reopenings," which are auctions of additional amounts of previously issued securities. A bidder will have the option of subtracting from the holdings component of the NLP, combined with any STRIPS \1\ principal components of the security being auctioned, an exclusion amount that Treasury will publish in the reopening offering announcement.
