| 00-19663 | Environmental Impact Statement for Addition of Electric Generation Peaking Capacity at Greenfield Sites, Mississippi | Notice | The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) will prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the proposed construction and operation of a natural gas-fired generating plant in Mississippi. The plant would supply peaking capacity to the TVA electric generation system to meet growing power demands. The EIS will evaluate the potential environmental impacts of constructing and operating a simple- cycle, natural gas-fired combustion turbine plant. TVA may build and operate such a plant or, alternatively, TVA may choose to purchase power from such a plant owned by others in order to meet TVA's needs. If built by TVA, the plant would be constructed on a previously undeveloped, greenfield site. TVA will use the EIS process to obtain public involvement on this proposal. Public comment is invited concerning both the scope of the EIS and environmental issues that should be addressed as a part of the EIS. | 2000-08-03 | 2000 | 8 | https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2000/08/03/00-19663/environmental-impact-statement-for-addition-of-electric-generation-peaking-capacity-at-greenfield | https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2000-08-03/pdf/00-19663.pdf | Tennessee Valley Authority | 486 | The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) will prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the proposed construction and operation of a natural gas-fired generating plant in Mississippi.
