The Board administers the Peanut Promotion, Research, and Information Order (Order) under the supervision of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA or the Department). This rule would also add the authority for producers in minor peanut-producing states to conduct nominations by mail ballot, make changes related to the addition of the public member, and eliminate obsolete language. The addition of a public member is to provide for additional input from the public and increase the opportunity for diversity on the Board.
