| SSA-2008-0051 | SSA | Exclusion of Certain Military Pay from Deemed Income and Resources | Rulemaking | 2015-10-23T01:00:44Z | 0b000064806ff9bf | 0960-AF97 | We propose to revise our rules on the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program to clarify that we exclude any combat-related military pay from countable income when we determine whether spouses and children of members of the uniformed services are eligible for SSI and their payment amount. These proposed rules would also provide that, when we determine whether spouses and children are eligible for SSI, we do not consider retroactive payments of certain military pay as resources for 9 months following receipt. These proposed rules would protect spouses and children of members of the uniformed services from a reduction in, or loss of, benefits because their family members serve in a combat zone. | Title II - Disability | Title XVI--Supplemental Security Income for the Aged, Blind, and Disabled | SSA | {"displayProperties": [{"name": "organization", "label": "Organization", "tooltip": "Identifies docket's (a regulatory action) orginating agency and/or department, equivalents: Division, Pre-EDOCKET ID."}], "keywords": null, "modifyDate": "2015-10-23T01:00:44Z", "dkAbstract": "We propose to revise our rules on the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program to clarify that we exclude any combat-related military pay from countable income when we determine whether spouses and children of members of the uniformed services are eligible for SSI and their payment amount.
