NOAA-NMFS-2025-0175 NOAA Notice of Receipt of Two Applications for Exempted Fishing Permits to Study South Atlantic Red Snapper Nonrulemaking 2025-07-23T12:46:22Z 0b000064b8e2977b   NMFS announces the receipt of two applications for exempted fishing permits (EFPs) from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). If granted, the EFPs would authorize limited recreational harvest of red snapper outside of any Federal recreational season in South Atlantic Federal waters and exempt that harvest from the reporting requirements, recreational bag and possession limits, recreational annual catch limits (ACLs), and accountability measures (AMs). FWC’s projects are intended to test alternative recreational management strategies that could be used by the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council (Council) to reduce waste from discarding red snapper and other federally managed snapper-grouper species, create additional opportunities to participate in sustainable recreational harvest, and improve angler satisfaction.               {"displayProperties": [{"name": "abstract", "label": "Description", "tooltip": "Describes an agency's specific regulatory action; equivalents: Abstract, Docket Subject, General Info, Related To, Summary."}], "keywords": null, "modifyDate": "2025-07-23T12:46:22Z", "dkAbstract": "NMFS announces the receipt of two applications for exempted fishing permits (EFPs) from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC).
