The four LEAF methods evaluate how waste constituent leaching changes with changing environmental conditions. The tests are intended to be more accurate than single point leaching tests by assessing constituent leaching potential under varied conditions. Because the LEAF test methods represent a new approach to evaluating leaching potential, the Agency has developed a guidance document to help potential users understand the tests and how to use them.
