Mr. Speaker, I rise to honor the life\nand legacy of Nashville Town Councilman and Pastor Xavien Harrison, who\npassed away on August 11, 2026. He was 53 years old. I join the Nash\nCounty community in mourning his passing and in honoring a life devoted\nto service, faith, and community.\n  Xavien was a devoted public servant, pastor, and advocate for young\npeople who believed deeply in the power of community. A graduate of\nShaw University, he brought a wide range of experience to his ministry\nand his public service, including backgrounds in law enforcement and\nmiddle school education. As a youth pastor, he invested in the next\ngeneration, helping young people see their full potential. He served as\na board member for the Down East Partnership for Children in Rocky\nMount, helping ensure children have the opportunities they need to\nlearn and succeed. He also volunteered as an All Pro Dads facilitator\nand supported the Nash Central Middle School Parent Teacher\nOrganization.\n  He brought that same spirit of service to the Nashville Town Council,\nwhere he was first elected in 2023, and to his role as pastor at\nPhiladelphia Missionary Baptist Church. Xavien worked to build\npartnerships and authentic relationships that made his community\nstronger. Colleagues and friends remember him for his honesty,\nencouragement, and genuine commitment to building meaningful\nrelationships.\n  His compassion and commitment to Nashville left a lasting mark on\neastern North Carolina. Xavien's legacy lives on in the young people he\nmentored, the neighbors he served, and the community he worked\ntirelessly to strengthen.\n  Mr. Speaker, we pray for Jacquetta, his family, the Philadelphia\nMissionary Baptist Church, and the people of Nashville. We stand with\nthem during this difficult time. I ask my colleagues to join me in\nhonoring the life and legacy of Xavien Harrison.\n\n                          ____________________"]], "columns": ["granule_id", "date", "congress", "session", "volume", "issue", "title", "chamber", "granule_class", "sub_granule_class", "page_start", "page_end", "speakers", "bills", "citation", "full_text"], "primary_keys": ["granule_id"], "primary_key_values": ["CREC-2026-09-24-pt1-PgE972-3"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.23847701959311962, "source": "Federal Register API & Regulations.gov API", "source_url": "https://www.federalregister.gov/developers/api/v1", "license": "Public Domain (U.S. Government data)", "license_url": "https://www.regulations.gov/faq"}
